How will I get my local border traffic permit?
- You will be notified when your application has been decided.
- You, or a person authorised by you, can collect the card from the Norwegian Consulate General in Murmansk.

What does the local border traffic permit look like?
The local border traffic permit is a card that contains the following information: Name, date of birth, citizenship, period of validity, when and where the card was issued, passport number, registered address, photo and signature. You fingerprints will also be stored on the card.

Which rules apply to using the card?
- You cannot lend your card to others.
- You must always bring both your passport and your local border traffic permit. You are obliged to present your card if the police ask you.
- You cannot work in Norway.
- When your local border traffic permit expires, you must apply for a new one.

What happens if I lose my local border traffic permit?
- When you notice that your local border traffic permit is missing, you must immediately report the loss to the police in Kirkenes if you lose it in Norway, or to the Consulate General of Murmansk if you lose it in Russia.
- If you do not get your local border traffic permit back, you must apply for a new one.
