Permit which is limited due to reasons other than the applicant's identity (§74)

If you have been given a residence permit due to protection against returning to your home country, it will be written in the decision letter which you received from UDI that you have been given a residence permit which is limited, according to the Immigration Act, Section 74 (Utlendingsloven §74). In the letter it will also be stated why you were given this kind of permit.

There are no particular requirements for renewing your residence permit.

There is no application fee.

If you get a new residence permit, you will get the same type of residence permit as the one you have now. You will normally only be given a residence permit for seven months at a time.
