Some applications for residence cards rejected on the basis of EEA regulations may be eligible for reassessment

This concerns family members of Norwegian citizens who acted upon rights in accordance with EEA regulations in the UK prior to 31 December 2020.

You can ask UDI to reassess your case if the reason given in writing for the rejection of your application for a residence card was based on:

  • instructions AI-04/2020 or
  • the UK no longer being a member of the EU

This applies only in cases where the reference person is Norwegian.

In order to have UDI reassess your case, please write a request in which you explain that you want your case to be reassessed. The request is to be uploaded here (Send documents to UDI). UDI will then decide whether a reassessment of your case can be undertaken.

This is on the background of new instructions that UDI has received from the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion (external website) (in Norwegian).
