When you attend your appointment to submit the documents on the checklist, you may visit a VFS application centre in Türkiye, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Serbia or Kazakhstan (external website). You must book an appointment in advance.

VFS will send your application to the Embassy of Norway in Ankara, Türkiye (external website), which will verify your original documents. Your application will then be forwarded electronically from Ankara to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). Your passport and original documents will be returned to you once your application has been processed. Applicants who do not require a visa will have their passport returned as soon as the necessary checks have been completed.
