Violence in the family / domestic violence

If a person is subjected to physical or psychological violence or threats from family members or former family members, it is called domestic violence. This also concerns children who experience violence in the family.

Female gender mutilation and forced marriage are also considered domestic violence.

If a person exploits a family member or someone else for purposes such as prostitution, work, begging or crime, it is called human trafficking.

In Norway, it is prohibited to subject someone to violence, including domestic violence, female gender mutilation, forced marriage or human trafficking.
