be valid at least three months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen area

have been issued within the previous 10 years

cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death
cover the entire period of stay in the Schengen area
be valid throughout the Schengen area
cover at least EUR 30 000

a travel plan and booked accommodation

an invitation from a private host and documentation of relationship

an invitation from an organisation, business or institution with detailed information about the purpose of visit

proof of booked transportation such as flight/bus tickets

confirmation of appointment with embassy/consulate

applicant's own bank statement, or salary slips/confirmation from employer on salary

form of sponsorship from a sponsor who is resident in mainland Norway

Documentation of ties to Svalbard, such as

letter from employer confirming employment

rental agreement

confirmation of registration in the Population Register for those who reside in Svalbard for a period of at least 6 months

birth certificate

documentation of parental authority or legal guardianship, if different from parents on birth certificate

copy of parents'/guardians' ID

travel consent from the parent/guardian(s) who is/are not travelling with the minor, if applicable
